(Sacramento, CA) — Birds in the Sacramento region are dying due to the West Nile Virus. The Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito Vector Control District says there is an increase in mosquitoes and dead birds testing positive for the West Nile Virus. There are 92 dead birds that tested positive for the West Nile Virus in Sacramento County.
The district is reminding people living in the area to use insect repellent and avoid being outdoors during dawn and dusk. Most people who get West Nile from a mosquito bite will not have any symptoms.
