(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Yuba City Police have provided KUBA with an update on the recent jewelry theft at Yuba-Sutter Marketplace.

Officers responded to a 911 call from DA Jewelers at 4:42 Sunday afternoon, July 23rd. An employee told them a someone posing as a customer asked to see a particular piece of jewelry. The employee then placed the full tray from the display case on the counter, at which time, the individual grabbed it and ran.

The suspect has now been identified as 26-year-old Fabrice Ortiz of Sacramento and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The estimated value of the jewelry theft is around $11,000.
