(Sacramento, CA) — Sacramento could be getting a professional football team, but it wouldn’t be an NFL team. Sacramento is one of the potential relocation spots being considered for the Bay Area Panthers, which have played in San Jose for the past two seasons.
The team is owned by former NFL All-Pro running back Marshawn Lynch and businessman Roy Choi. They’re considering moving the team to Sacramento, Oakland, or Stockton, or staying in San Jose. UFC Hall of Famer Uriah Faber is serving as the chairman of Sacramento’s executive community board, which will aim to rally support for the possible relocation from the local business community.
The Panthers are playing in this Saturday’s IFL championship game.
