(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The Yuba County Board of Supervisors has approved an extended closure, a year-and-a-half, of Hammonton Road between Hammonton-Smartsville Road & Timbuctoo Road in the Yuba Goldfields “due to continuous criminal activities and illegal dumping.”

Last year, the Yuba County Sheriff’s office received 83 calls for service in the area, 50 of which a resolution says “could have been avoided had Hammonton Road been gated.” Additionally, CDFW officers issued 315 citations in the area, “an estimated 145 of which could have been avoided had Hammonton Road been gated.”
