(Sacramento, CA) — The Sacramento Police Department confirms it is looking into a threatening voicemail targeting the Black community. The voicemail was left for the Sojourner Truth African American Heritage Museum early Sunday morning.

The caller encouraged harm and the murder of Black children and referenced violence to more than 100 schools in the Sacramento area. The founder of the museum sent a copy of the voicemail to the Black Lives Matter Sacramento chapter to make it more public and warn others.

Detectives are investigating the threats.
