(Yuba-Sutter, CA) — Forecasters are calling for a scorching weekend in Northern California. Parts of the Sacramento Valley and California Delta could reach temperatures as high as 113 degrees. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for a large portion of Northern California between Friday morning and Monday night.

Some of the most intense heat is also expected on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada, and areas around Plumas, Lassen and Sierra Counties.
