(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Social media is reporting a number of scattered fires last night and throughout the holiday, but no word of any damage or injuries, as Yuba-Sutter celebrated Independence Day this past weekend into yesterday.
The Fourth of July Children’s Parade in Yuba City was a bit hit, despite high temperatures and hot asphalt on Plumas Street. The Appeal-Democrat reports the parade started as a two-bicycle event in 1986, when neighborhood children were asked to join in. Those children now have offspring of their own, and many families are now making the annual parade a tradition.
Fire department volunteers tell the paper around 1,200 were in attendance for both the parade, and a concert afterward.
