(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The timing was perfect for a suspected Yuba City burglar to be driving with his headlights off – 3:00 in the morning Friday – as he was leaving the parking lot of a business where officers were responding to an audible alarm in the 900 block of Shasta Street.
Officers attempted to pull 36-year-old Ken Jones over, however he sped off. He ultimately abandoned his vehicle in the yard of a residence on Ainsley Avenue and ran.
A perimeter was set up, K9 Rip was summoned and Jones was found in the backyard of a residence on Bird street and taken into custody. A backpack containing a firearm & burglary tools was located in the vehicle.
Additionally, the vehicle had fictitious plates and it turns out Jones had nothing to do with the tripped alarm that began the incident
