(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – CHP Yuba-Sutter is seeking the public’s help in tracking down the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian. The accident occurred Friday night on Forty Mile Road south of HWY 65 near the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Wheatland.

A 78-year-old Olivehurst man, whose identity has not been released at this time, was found dead on the east shoulder of Forty Mile Road. He was hit by what is believed to be a 2016 or newer white Chevy Malibu. The driver then fled north toward HWY 65.

The vehicle is now most likely missing the driver side mirror and left headlight lens.

This is the second pedestrian hit & run fatality this year in that same area. A 28-year-old Marysville man was hit and killed by a vehicle in February. The suspect in that crash turned himself in.
