(Oroville, CA) – Las Plumas High School was locked down for several hours yesterday morning, starting at around 8:00, when the school received a phone call threatening to bring a gun to campus. Staff contacted law enforcement and the school was immediately put on lock-down.

The principal tells Action News the caller used a text-to-voice app that disguises the voice, that school staff was in contact with the caller “at least twice then a name of a juvenile was provided.”

The sheriff said detectives interviewed the suspected caller to “ultimately determine whether there was actual desire to carry this threat out.”

The lock-down was lifted at 11:00.
