(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Yuba-Sutter Transit has been awarded a $13.7-million grant out of the state’s $690-million Transit & Intercity Rail Capital Program, designed to expand transit and passenger rail service, “and cut plant-warming pollution” according to The Appeal-Democrat.
Yuba-Sutter Transit officials tell the paper that $10-million of the $13.7-million grant will be used for its NextGen Transit Facility project, $3-million will go toward 15 small battery electric buses for Yuba-Sutter Transit’s planned on-demand service and the remaining $725,000 will be used for a battery/electric commuter bus for use on the planned HWY 65 connector service to the Roseville Transit Center.
