(Roseville, CA) — The suspect accused of killing one person and wounding two others near a park in Roseville is facing murder and kidnapping charges. The man is accused of shooting a hostage to death, wounding another hostage and wounding a California Highway Patrol officer near Mahany Park last Thursday.
The man made his first court appearance on Monday but didn’t enter a plea. He’s due back in court next Tuesday, April 18th. Authorities say the chaos started when a CHP officer was serving the suspect a search warrant, then was shot.
New court documents reveal the suspect was wearing body armor during the shooting and the standoff that followed.
