(Sacramento, CA) — It has been over one year since the deadliest shooting in Sacramento’s history. Families and local activists gathered Tuesday in the downtown area to mourn for their loved ones and call for an end to gun violence.
The mother of one of the victims said the shooting was dismissed as a gang shooting.
Six people were killed at 10th and K Streets just as bars and clubs were closing on April 3rd of last year.
Empact Sacramento Founder Leia Schenk said victim Sergio Harris went out with friends like everyone else. She also made a call for more services to protect communities from gun violence.
