(Nevada County, CA) — One of possibly the largest snowpack in state history was recorded earlier this week. The California Department of Water Resources said on Monday the measurement shows possible record setting snowfall this year.

The survey was conducted at the agency’s Phillips Station in El Dorado County. DWR’s manager of the Snow Survey unit said the snowpack is expected to be the largest or the second largest since the 1950s.
