(Portland, OR) — The Sacramento Kings will be in the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2006. The Kings finally punched their ticket last night with a dominant 40-point win over the Portland Trail Blazers. It ends the longest playoff drought in NBA history and what was the longest active drought in North American pro sports.
Whoever the Kings face in the first round, Games One and Two will be at the Golden One Center. The Kings also secured home-court advantage to open the playoffs, since they can no longer fall any lower than the fourth seed in the west.
The Kings are third in the west but trail Memphis for the second seed by just two games.
