(Oroville, CA) – For the second time in a month, the Community Action Agency North State Food Bank has become the victim of catalytic converter thieves at their Oroville facility. A total of seven have now been stolen from trucks and cars, according to Action News.

The thieves also drilled holes in all the gas tanks after gaining access to the property by cutting a hole in the fence.

The Food Bank’s Director, Thomas Dearmore, tells the television station that they will now have to spend $3,500 in deductibles to have the vehicles repaired “instead of purchasing food.” However, he adds they will continue distribution to as many as they can in the five counties they serve.

The thief is believed to be the same person who did the same thing several weeks ago and the facility will be “investing in more security cameras.”
