(Sacramento, CA) — While one of the wettest winters on record in decades has created a share of problems across California, it has gone a long way toward erasing the drought. The statewide snowpack is at 212-percent of normal for this time of year, and at 202-percent of the April 1st average.
Several parts of the Sierra have already recorded more than 600-inches of snow, with another 100-inches of snow expected in the high elevations by the end of this week.
The U.S. Drought monitor’s latest map shows none of California still in an extreme or exceptional drought. Much of Central California no longer has any drought at all.
