(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – In Yuba County Court, 45-year-old Aaron Quinn of Oroville has been sentenced to 85 years, 8 months to life in prison, after being found guilty of the attempted murder of CHP Officer Ryan Lambert.
Quinn opened fire during a standoff on January 16th of last year after a high speed chase that began in Oroville, reaching speeds of 95mph, until Quinn lost control and hit a power-pole near Brownsville.
He then opened his door and began shooting at the officer.
His 9mm Ruger P89 reportedly jammed after he fired six rounds, three of which hit Officer Lambert’s patrol vehicle. In returning fire, he hit and injured Quinn who was eventually taken into custody following a 45 minute standoff.
In sentencing, the judge noted Quinn’s lack of remorse and the fact that he had over fifty rounds of ammunition remaining when his weapon jammed, according to a statement released by the DA.
