(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Follow up on the predawn fatal accident on HWY 70 near the Yuba / Butte County line KUBA reported on yesterday morning: CHP reports it was just after 1:00 when a 41-year-old Sacramento man driving a 2006 Toyota Tacoma south on 70 lost control near Sparrow Lane, hit a construction barrel, overturning multiple times finally landing in an orchard. The driver, whose name has not been released, was not wearing a seat-belt and was ejected and killed.
A passenger, a 40-year-old Marysville man, whose name also hasn’t been released, was partially restrained by a shoulder belt and sustained minor injuries.
Alcohol and / or drugs are believed to be factors as officers located fentanyl and numerous alcoholic beverage containers inside and near the wrecked vehicle.
