(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Follow up on the pedestrian fatality on Forty Mile Road near the Hard Rock that KUBA reported on yesterday morning: The victim was a 28-year-old Marysville man who was killed by a hit-and-run driver at 4:41 while “walking north on the fog line” of the southbound lane of Forty Mile Road. He was walking with another pedestrian when hit by a white Mercedes C Class, according to the CHP collision report.

The driver at that time, continued on.

With the assistance of the Yuba County Sheriff’s office FLOCK License Plate Reader System, the vehicle was tracked down to Chase Lemenager of Yuba City. He was not at the address given, but turned himself in a short time later.

No arrest has been made, however, the Mercedes has been impounded for evidence. The report notes alcohol and / or drugs are not considered factors and “it was dark and there are no street lights in the area.”
