(Media Release, Sutter County Sheriff’s Department) – The evacuation order that was put in place on January 8th for the residents of Lovey’s Landing has been lifted and the power has been turned on. This order was issued due to the potential flooding from the Sacramento River, impacting the power source in that area, which caused us to turn the power off on January 10th to protect the public.
While the weather reports are projecting no rain beginning on Wednesday, we ask community members continue to remain aware—and prepared—should there be any sudden changes in weather. If the water levels increase threatening the power source, we will shut off the power and issue another evacuation order.
We know this is a difficult time for our communities, and we will continue to do everything we can to keep our residents safe, as well as informed.
