(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Although localized stream, creek and drainage canal flooding is an issue currently, the major rivers in the KUBA listening area are well below flood monitor stage.

The Sutter County Office of Emergency Management reports the Feather River is forecast to crest 20 feet below monitor stage and 36 feet below flood stage later this week in Yuba City.

This week, the Bear River at Wheatland is forecast to crest 8 feet below flood stage.

The Sacramento River at Verona is forecast to crest 5 feet below flood stage, and as designed, it’s overflowing the Tisdale Weir between Meridian & Robbins and is forecast to flow over the Colusa & Moulton Weirs to the north. A release reports “in the near future, increasing the water in the bypass system by as much as 33k cubic feet per second by midweek” adding “There is no immanent threat to the bypass levee system.”

The Yuba River above Marysville is forecast to crest 15-and-1/2-feet below flood stage tomorrow.
