The United States Geological Survery (USGS) reports a 7.0 magnitude Earthquake hit at approximately 10:44 Thursday morning offshore Cape Mendocino in Humboldt County.
The “Did You Feel It” map on the USGS website indicates the quake was felt throughout Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Southern Oregon.
Several social media posts show damage caused by the earthquake, including broken bottles and items thrown from grocery store shelves.
