(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – The U.S. Department of Justice has announced the arrest and charging of 20-year-old Sukhmanpreet Singh Jawanda of Yuba City, as part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods Program that, “brings together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce crime and gun violence” according to a DOJ statement.

Charges against Jawanda include possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute and dealing firearms without a license.

Jawanda was pulled over on I-5 in San Joaquin County in March of last year, in possession of over 30,000 fentanyl pills and a firearm. He allegedly sold fentanyl and “at least 6 firearms to an undercover agent” during the investigation.
