(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – Good news from the Yuba-Sutter SPCA, a new veterinarian seems to be in the works! Services performed by the facility have been shut down, or scaled back following the abrupt departure of its former vet – as officials told The Appeal-Democrat that person ‘resigned without warning.”
A Wednesday post on Facebook now reports the facility has found a veterinarian who would be “slowly transitioning into the clinic.” An indicator of operations resuming is that the Yuba-Sutter SPCA will be open again for vaccinations, this Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

We have an update !!!!
It is with Great excitement that we are announcing having a positive lead on a new Veterinarian. As this situation is still very tentative we are remaining very hopeful . We appreciate all of the kind words, well wishes and support in this troubling time. Please continue to spread the word as this has truly been a power of the people and again we appreciate you all. Please keep an eye out for new updates as we will post them as they become available .
It hurts our hearts to have to address our community about the following: we must temporarily close our doors. Our veterinarian has resigned without prior warning leaving us no other option at this time. Our last day will be Saturday, July 30th. We will still be available for record transfers if needed. Our goal has been and always will be to provide affordable preventative care for your pets and to educate our community about the importance of vaccinations and reducing pet population. Our efforts have been temporarily hindered by this veterinarian’s decision to leave abruptly, but we want you to know that we are grateful for your support and understanding. We very much appreciate each of you. We are working very hard to get a new veterinarian in place and to resume business as usual. Again, please know that we are very saddened by this decision, but we will reopen. Please feel free to call periodically to check on our status we will update here as soon as new information becomes available.
Please feel free to IMessage us with any leads on Veterinarians that may be interested in our mission and a dream job. There are a few services we will still provide by appointment only. Nail trims , microchipping , Heartworm medication refills, flea and tick preventative and adoption. Our staff is committed to doing everything we can to continue to help our community during this closure. Please give us a call to schedule an appointment for these
