YUBA COUNTY WILLOW FIRE FULLY CONTAINED -AUGUST COMPLEX, NOW THE STATE’S LARGEST

The Willow Fire in Yuba County is fully contained at 1,311 acres with 9 residences destroyed and 4 damaged.

Meanwhile on the west side of the valley, California’s largest recorded wildfire – the August Complex – continues growing as it approached 1-million acres, at 877,477 and 28% contained, with evacuation orders expanding in Mendocino, Humboldt, Trinity and Del Norte Counties. Thousands of homes as well as historic structures, prehistoric sites, power-lines, communication towers and a hydroelectric plant remain threatened.

The U.S. Army’s 14th Brigade Engineers Battalion is now operational on the front line.
