In their meeting this week, the Yuba City School Board approved a partial return to class beginning next Tuesday, for preschool through 5th grades, partly by in-school, partly online, using a morning / afternoon split schedule. Online classes began this past Monday.
The Yuba City plan, while going against the Bi-County Health Officer’s recommendation that no in-person instruction begin until Spring at the earliest, is not mandatory and is up to the individual student’s parents or guardians as to whether the child actually goes to in-person classes.
Masks will be required at school and on buses.
6Th – 12th graders in Yuba City are scheduled to return to classrooms February 1st, but the Superintendent tells The Appeal-Democrat a special meeting will be held to finalize that.
The Marysville District remains on distance-learning until further notice.
