Potential good news for boaters & anglers who’ve been unable to access the Feather River at the Yuba City boat ramp for over a year due to sediment and debris buildup: Work is now scheduled to begin later this month to remove it. The Sutter Butter Flood Control Agency and the Nor Cal Guides & Sportsman’s Association have acquired funding to begin sediment removal at the Yuba City boat ramp later this month and at the Live Oak boat ramp beginning next month.

The Executive Director of the Flood Control Agency tells The Appeal-Democrat the Yuba City ramp “will be open between July 2nd & July 18th.”

They’ve also applied for a $5-million-dollar grant through the California Department of Fish & Wildlife that “if awarded would provide additional funding.”
