Cal-Fire reports The West Zone of the North Complex – formerly The Bear Fire – 30% contained at 77,671 acres. The Butte & Yuba County communities of Berry Creek, Brush Creek, Big Bend, Feather falls, Clipper Mills, Challenge, Forbestown, Woodleaf and Strawberry Valley remain under mandatory evacuation orders, going into the 9th consecutive day now.

In total, The North Complex is reported 36% contained at 273,335 acres, with 865 structures destroyed, 60 damaged and 15 fatalities.

On the west side of the valley, The August Complex, active going into a 32nd day, is 30% contained and has grown to over 800,000 acres to 817,952 (according to The U.S. Forest service although Cal Fire reports 796,651 acres).
