WOMAN WHO INTENTIONALLY SET YUBA COUNTY FIRE FACING 5 YEARS / FINES

In federal court yesterday, the woman who sparked 2 Yuba County wildfires last September – as the North Complex just a few miles away continued to grow – pled guilty to arson in a National Forest.

39-year-old Sharon Perkins said she didn’t mean for the intentional fire she set near the 17,000 block of HWY 49 in the Camptonville area to spread, but to burn down the trailer she’d been living in “because she was tired of her lifestyle” according to The Appeal-Democrat, citing court documents.

Perkins is scheduled to be sentenced in April and faces a maximum 5 years in prison and a quarter-million-dollar fine.
