(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – One of the drivers involved in Wednesday evening’s collision on HWY 20 at Humphrey Road near Sutter has been arrested on suspicion of DUI and causing injury.

At around 8:30, 31-year-old Mariah Lindsey Lopez of Meridian was driving an ’08 Honda Pilot north on Humphrey Road with 5 children in the vehicle, at which time, she crossed HWY 20 and “failed to yield the right of way” according to the CHP. Her vehicle was then hit by a 2018 Jeep Compass heading west on 20, driven by 34-year-old Jonathon Reyes of Colusa, with 3 adults and an infant as a passenger.

All 11 people involved sustained some level of injury and several were trapped in vehicles and needed to be extricated.

The most serious injury, according to The Appeal-Democrat, was a 12-year-old whose femur was broken. Lopez was also hospitalized, but it was determined she was under the influence when questioned.
