(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – It’s not the crime of the century, but shopping carts and trash left in public areas has become a real blight on the Yuba-Sutter area. And, as if fighting crime isn’t enough, on Tuesday, members of the Yuba City Police Department took it upon themselves to clear several areas of those carts and cleared mountains of trash out as well.

According to a Facebook post from YCPD: “Our A-Day Shift Officers noticed a collection of shopping carts and trash near B Street and N. Palora Avenue. Throughout their rotation, they have tried to help beautify our city one location at a time. This is one location of many, that they have already helped clean. We appreciate you guys.”

Words of thanks are all over social media as this problem is often discussed – but outside of volunteer groups such as Say Love (etc.), little is ever done about it, until this week.
