As the spread of the coronavirus continues to grow, a Sacramento man is using his 3D printer for good. Sam King, a project manager at a tech firm, is printing out personal protective equipment of PPE for health workers on the frontlines treating coronavirus patients. Right now, he’s making protective face shields, which serves as a barrier between the virus and the human face. If he’s not making the shields, he’s shipping them out to where they are needed. King makes 20 shields each day. King says he’s sent supplies to Tennessee, Illinois and New York and is hand-delivering some to medical workers in the Sacramento region.
