(Nevada City, CA) — The Rices Fire continues to grow as it approaches one-thousand-acres burned. Cal-Fire says over nine-hundred-acres of land has been scorched as of last night with about ten percent of the blaze contained.

Homes near the Yuba River are threatened by flames as nearly 700 firefighters are working to contain the blaze. Crews are also battling a three-hundred-50-acre wildfire named the “Camino Fire” that started in San Luis Obispo and is nearly 50-percent contained.
