(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – What to do with the former Kmart building on Gray Avenue in Yuba City? That was the topic at yesterday’s meeting of the Sutter County Real Estate Committee, as they analyzed various options.

At present, the committee is planning to use the location for Sutter County Health and Human Services, according to Sutter County Administrator Steve Smith. However, The Appeal-Democrat reports renovation costs halted the original transfer to that building.

Four development plans submitted by Turton Commercial Real Estate were presented, including maintaining the current building and creating a new retail location at Gray & Louise Avenues.

Other plans involve the demolition of some 85,000 square feet of the building, but preserving a part of it, and dividing the lot into parcels.
