The Yuba City Police Department reports an officer involved shooting last evening. Officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 1600 block of Wildflower Circle at approximately 7:45, after neighbors called 911 reporting “sounds of a female being attacked” according to a press release. Then a victim inside the house called 911 reporting he had been hit in the head by the suspect, and a second victim, a woman inside was being held hostage in a bedroom and had “a significant injury to her neck.”

As officers attempted to communicate with the suspect through a closed bedroom door, he came out, holding a weapon against the injured woman’s neck, advanced toward the officers with the weapon still holding the victim. An officer “discharged their firearm, striking the suspect.” officers then rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived and transported the male victim & suspect to Adventist / Rideout. The injured female victim was taken to Sutter-Roseville.

No identities are being released at this time.
