However, The Forest Service reports the death of a firefighter battling that blaze yesterday, and another firefighter injured and “receiving medical treatment.” No names nor specifics have been released at this time.
The LNU Lightning Complex spanning Solano, Sonoma, Napa, Yolo and Lake Counties is now 66% contained at 375,209 acres – no growth over the last 24 hours – with mandatory evacuation orders remaining on the fire’s edge in Colusa County west of 16, south of 20, east of the Colusa / Lake County line and north of the Colusa / Yolo County line east of 16. that blaze is responsible for 5 deaths, 4 injuries, 1,209 structures destroyed and 193 damaged.
The Butte Zone of the Butte Lightning Complex is 80% contained at 2,782 acres and now in the mop up and patrol stage.
And in the Plumas & Lassen National Forests, the North Complex is 37% contained at 62,275 acres growing about 200 acres in the last 24 hours.
