The Butte Lightning Complex – a total of 34 separate fires that now includes the Potters Fire, has now burned 3,527 acres and is 40% contained. Crews are focusing on the 1-12 Fire along Butte Creek, which is 1,750 acres with no containment. The Potters Fire is 95% contained and more accurate mapping has reduced it 100 acres down to 927. Evacuation warnings remain for the Inskip and Philbrook reservoir areas. The Skyway is closed south of Butte Meadows at the Butte Creek crossing, to all but emergency vehicles.
In Glenn County, the August Complex northwest of Willows remains 11% contained and has grown about 4,000 acres over the last 24 hours, to 181,051 acres with mandatory evacuation orders in place west of 306, the entire length of Glenn County to both the Mendocino and Tehama County lines. A public information officer reported last evening “10 habitable structures burned last week. No more have burned this week.”
