(Yuba-Sutter, CA) – An email from Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox General Manager Tommy Lininger sent yesterday, headlined “Gold Sox shut down operations/organization will reevaluate options,” says that after 20 years, the team will not operate for the 2023 season “as a result of the ownership group’s decision that it was not currently economically viable.”

Lininger had announced at the conclusion of this past season that he would be stepping down as general manager going forward.

Gold Sox managing partner John Cassidy said in a statement, “This is not goodbye, but a brief hiatus…2023 is a year of regrouping.”
