(Colusa County, CA) – The new Colusa County Jail project – 10 years now since originally being determined as necessary to replace the existing 60-year-old facility – has taken an important procedural step forward. The Colusa County Board of Supervisors has approved a resolution affirming the county’s cost match of $15.6-million-dollars, and conditionally awarded the construction contract to Clark Sullivan / Broward Builders.

The state has committed $20-million-dollars to the project.

Colusa’s Assistant Sheriff tells The Colusa Sun Herald the next step is to find approvbal from the State Department of Finance on March 10th. If approved, “the facility should be substantially completed by November 2025.”
