Plans dating back to 2006, but later scraped, are back front and center as a proposed parkway along the Feather River will now get a boost in planning resources, courtesy of the National Park Service.

The parkway would feature hiking & biking trails, and even help restore the natural habitat along the river in Sutter County.

The Appeal-Democrat reports the project is supported by both the Yuba City Council and Sutter County Board of Supervisors, among others.

The parkway extension would be south from Willow Island Park to Shanghai Bend.
