MYSTERY CHINA SEEDS ARRIVE IN YUBA/SUTTER

A day after the Butte County Ag Commissioner issued a local warning to not plant unsolicited, mystery seeds from China – that started arriving in the United States via mail last week – The Yuba & Sutter Ag Commissioners are issuing the same warning with their reported arrival here.

The seed packages are often labeled as jewelry or toys, and you’re advised to contact your County Ag Office if you receive them. Residents are strongly cautioned not to plant them, as they may be an invasive species which could decimate indigenous plants and wildlife, as well as cash crops and livestock.

The USDA reported yesterday they have now arrived in all 50 states.
