With strong overnight winds causing concern for firefighters fighting the North Complex West Zone fire in the Bucks Lake area, the Butte County Sheriffs office issued an immediate evacuation order for the areas of Pulga, Concow, Big Bend, and Yankee Hill about 9 o’clock last night. In addition, Stirling City, Magalia, and the entire town of Paradise were placed under an evacuation warning.

There was good news from the fireline however as Cal-Fire reported that the fire did not grow Sunday for a second day.

The fire has burned 85,595 acres and is now 85 percent contained. Cal Fire was also able to announce the final structure damaged/destroyed numbers since the North Complex West Zone fire began Aug. 17. There have been 2,342 structures destroyed and 113 damaged.

Cal Fire meteorologists said that a Red Flag Warning will remain in place through 9 tonight with a wind advisory in place until 7 tonight.
