MODERNA CANCELS VACCINE SHIPMENT

Citing winter storms and power outages throughout the central & gulf states, Moderna abruptly canceled its scheduled shipment of 1,200 COVID-19 vaccine doses that were to have been administered at this weekend’s Bi-County Health Department sponsored clinic. A spokesperson says however they’ll still be able to give shots to about 70% of those registered and will contact those who need to re-register for next Saturday’s clinic, directly.

Meanwhile, Bi-County Health reports another COVID-related Yuba-Sutter death yesterday – a Sutter County resident in their mid-70s – increasing the local total to 130.

In Butte County, former Sheriff Jerry Smith passed away from COVID infection at the age of 63. As well, Oroville Mayor Chuck Reynolds confirms to The Mercury-Register that he is COVID-19 positive and “feeling under the weather.”
