MARYSVILLE PROTEST OVER GEORGE FLOYD KILLING REMAINS PEACEFUL

While weekend protests across America over the death of George Floyd turned violent, a vigil yesterday at Ellis Lake in Marysville remained peaceful. Several dozen residents – including uniformed police officers – took part in the ceremony and march. Both on the scene – and on social media – the response was grateful that the protest never came close to turning into the mayhem seen in American cities for almost a week now, after a Minneapolis Police officer was charged in the death of an unarmed man. Brenda Garcia commented “It was awesome. Very peaceful. We give so much thanks to Marysville Police Department for joining us and showing the community that together we can make Marysville and the surrounding areas a great place to live AND raise our children.”

  1. I just watched the most horrendous event since the anti-war campus killing. What is our country becoming, It looked like a 3rd world country. I am 74 yrs old and I have seen protests and riots, Never have we had to call-up the military. I am looking for a peaceful protest, NOW
