FIREFIGHTERS NEED FOOD, RESTAURANTS NEED BUSINESS – YUBA/SUTTER DELIVERS BOTH

With the pandemic limiting local restaurants, and firefighters from the Northern Complex working up enormous appetites, the call for help was made.

Devon Ellsowrth of Cal Fire put the word out to Dave Dillabo, CEO of the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds – add John Nicoletti from Yuba-Sutter Habitat from Humanity to the mix, and great things happen: Food for front line firefighters, and much needed income for the local eateries!

The Appeal-Democrat reports over $28,000 was generated, as Nicoletti reached out to 12 food service businesses, with orders of up to 130 individual meals at a time. “It was an incredible synergy” according to Nicoletti.
