(Placer County, CA) — Those living near a recent avalanche are being told to get ready to evacuate. Placer County Sheriff’s Department officials say the evacuation warning is in the Olympic Valley just West of Lake Tahoe.

An avalanche happened there on Tuesday. About 100 homes were impacted, including 70 units from a condominium complex. Authorities say four people had to be rescued from inside four of the units.
