Following the announcement that California is expecting the arrival of the first doses of a coronavirus vaccine, Butte County Public Health says they’re in the midst of coordinating with the state to transport and store the county’s first batch.

Rather than distributing the vaccine themselves as they do for the flu vaccine, they will help coordinate with local health care partners on how the first batches arrive at local medical facilities and where they are preserved until used.

When the vaccine will arrive and which specific medical facilities will receive it are unclear at this point.
