CITY OF MARYSVILLE SUES CALTRANS OVER HWY 70 EXPANSION PROJECT

The City of Marysville has filed a lawsuit against Caltrans over its HWY 70 expansion plan, accusing them of not following the steps required by the California Environmental Quality Act. The suit claims the city took issue with several aspects of the Environmental Impact report and that Caltrans approved the project without consideration of those comments.

Yuba County and Union Pacific are also “parties of interest in the lawsuit” which additionally claims local entities were not notified of Caltrans approval of the project until two weeks later, according to The Appeal-Democrat.
