(Sacramento, CA) – There’s a bill being proposed in Sacramento that will help protect Native Americans from violence. Assemblymember James C. Ramos made the announcement about the creation of the “Feather Alert” bill. It will create an Endangered Missing Advisory System for Native Americans who are at risk, like Amber and Silver alerts.

According to a press release, there are more than 57-hundred cases of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, and only 116 are under the federal missing persons list. The bill has bipartisan support.
